Bariatric Medicine Obesity Medicine Non-surgical Weight Loss Options Orbera®

 Our specialty-trained, weight loss certified providers are dedicated to improving health and wellness for patients 
affected by the disease of obesity who are interested in a non-surgical approach.  We believe each patient requires counseling, education and support with nutrition, physical activity, behavior modification combined with meal replacements and the possibility of weight loss medications to meet their goals of sustained weight loss.

 Our medical weight loss program is an option for Back On Track Surgical Weight Loss patients as well. 

Who benefits from a Bariatric Medical Weight Loss Program?

 BMI > 27 with 1 or more co-morbidities, (examples: diabetes, hypertension, steatosis/steatohepatitis (fatty liver), obstructive sleep apnea, controlled cardiovascular disease, osteoarthritis, gout, infertility,  polycystic ovarian syndrome, insulin resistance and/or other health issues.
 BMI => 30

 Lap Band System patients who are "stuck at a weight", struggling with weight loss, bariatric plateau, or fluid removed.

 Orbera Gastric Balloon pre-operative and post-operative balloon placement. 

Initial Classes are mandatory to review requirements.

An appointment with our clinical providers will include:
Evaluation and Consultation with our RD - Board Certified Specialist in Obesity and Weight Management
REE Korr Metabolic Testing  
Evaluation of current medical status and evaluation of obesity-related co-morbidities
Evaluation of designated labs with an EKG to determine candidacy for nutritional supplements (REQUIRED as part of program)
and/or medication usage.  
Increased activity with exercise, and behavioral therapy


Dietician with Certification with Adult Weight Medication evaluation and plan of action
Nutiriton Supplementation required before any medication therapy can be added.  
Fees due at time of service. 
Access to education classes, support groups, and online education.
Scheduled regular follow-up visits are required monthly.  Patient must attend 1 Weight Loss Class per month and meet with Nurse

Practitioner 1x per month.

Patient is responsible for all co-pays, deductible, purchase of supplements of any additional medications added to the treatment plan.
